I like to be a person of action and adventure, I'm not opposed to measured amounts of risk. I love exploring the natural world, especially the underwater world. I can be selfish and self-involved at times but am working to resolve this. I like to think that I can be relied upon. I may be busy a lot of the time and not always at the forefront, but I am when I'm needed and it's important. Also, I keep my finger on the pulse in the background, keeping updated on all the comings and goings of our clients.

It's not a specific activity. Rather, its to do something that the participant believed they'd never be able to experience, achieve or enjoy. That's incredibly rewarding to be part of.
When someone asks you why you are a support worker, what do you say?:
I say that I'd never imagined that I would work in the field that I am now and that I'm still here because it feels like a really important and rewarding way to be of service.
If you could go back and talk to your younger self, what advice would you give?:
I would tell him that the conscience is a real thing, valuable and worth listening to. That following his conscience will lead him to happiness, and going against it will lead to pain and suffering for him and everyone around him.
If you could have a superpower what would it be and why?:
To fly, I've always wanted to fly like an eagle. Or to breathe underwater. Who could decide...
What is your favourite Movie or TV Series, and why?:
The Green Mile. It really explores judging a book by its cover, and the risks of acting based on assumptions, rather than really understanding people's intentions and motivations.

I’ve spent years supporting people in aged care and the NDIS. I’m down-to-earth, honest, and like to keep things light with plenty of laughs. I take time to understand your needs and make sure the right supports are in place. I love helping people enjoy life more. I enjoy sharing and giving, whether it’s time, support, or a laugh. It’s rewarding, different every day, and I meet amazing people.
If you could go back and talk to your younger self, what advice would you give?:
Worry less and laugh more. Be kind and patient with yourself and others. Try new things, meet new people, and don’t take life too seriously.
If you could have a superpower what would it be and why?:
I’d choose to never need sleep. More time for creating activities, sharing laughs, and getting to know people — plus plenty of time to bake, try new recipes, garden, and cook up a storm to share.

One of my favourites is One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest. It’s raw, powerful, and full of unforgettable characters. It’s about courage, humour, and standing up for yourself — and it reminds me of me at times, especially when trying to fit in.

I love animals, dogs in particular. My ideal day is being a home with my partner pottering away in our garden with our chickens and dogs. I have a fascination with dinosaurs and ancient history. I like crafting, going on nature walks, baking (though I'm not very good at it) and dancing around my house while I do my cleaning. I like to go to the gym and am currently training for a half marathon.

It's okay to make mistakes if you learn from them. You don't need anyone's approval. The hardest things to do are always the most worthwhile.

Teleportation, you would save so much time and see so many incredible things.

I enjoy a good comedy series that is mindless to watch and you can watch any episode and know whats going on like The Office or Parks and Recreation. I enjoy a good superhero movie, but my all time favourite movie is Jurassic Parks because I have always loved dinosaurs and for a long time wanted to be a Palaeontologist.

When someone asks you why you are a support worker, what do you say?
Years ago, I started volunteering as a support worker while reassessing my career - I didn’t realise then that the work had actually found me. From community access and in-home support to coordination and employment programs, I’ve been blessed to walk alongside people through every high and low. It’s more than a career; it’s about sharing the journey and making sure no one walks it alone.
If you could go back and talk to your younger self, what advice would you give?:
Stop measuring twice and living once. I spent years colouring inside the lines only to realize the page was still empty.
I’m chucking the ruler and grabbing the paint brushes. If I make a mess? Good. At least it’ll be a masterpiece I actually enjoyed making.
If you could have a superpower what would it be and why?
Social Alchemy - the art of using deep empathy to turn conflict and ignorance into connection and respect.

Dance Craze - a 1981 documentary film about the British 2 Tone music genre, the anthem of my youth.

I'm a support worker because I love being able to connect with all kinds of people and I love that I'm able to help those people, even if its just a little bit. I love to learn about them and just be with them.

The advice I'd give to my younger self, is learn to love other people as you would yourself, and don't be afraid to go out be yourself and have fun learning.
If you could have a superpower what would it be and why?
To time travel mixed with being able to travel anywhere in the universe, a little weird but I want to be able to have that superpower to learn the evolution of the world and all its history itself, as well as exploring the universe and all its mysterious.
What is your favourite Movie or TV Series, and why?
My favourite movie of all time is, Interstellar. I love sci-fi and this movie takes you on a journey. It's a beautiful story that just captures you straight away. It's a movie I can watch over and over again.

I am a mother of 3, I love the gym and being out in nature. In always going for walks, hikes, beach, adventuring to new waterfalls or swimming holes. Sunsets and pretty skies are my thing. I also enjoy cooking and dancing, going out to eat new foods.

I would say that I am like a warm hug, I’m friendly and full of life, a great high vibe energy but also calming and safe to be around. People often say they feel so relaxed, seen and understood when in my company.

I enjoy any activity because what I enjoy most is being in their company. I really like to chat and engage with my clients, laugh lots and get to know them deeper. Spending time doing what they love is what makes me happy.

I love humans and love caring for them. Helping and assisting anyway I can. I’ve always being very nurturing so it feels second nature to me. It’s a privilege to be of service.

Probably to be able to heal peoples hearts from pain and darkness so the world would be kinder and full of love.
