when the obstacles are impossible to overcome

There are thousands of people across Australia who desperately deserve to receive NDIS funding, but the chips are completely stacked against them.

They may not have family or friends who can care for them sufficiently. The NDIS system may be impossible to navigate, with even their GP at a complete loss about what to do next. They barely have enough money for rent or medication, let alone expensive assessments to demonstrate their eligibility.

These are the people living 'unfunded lives'. People barely able to survive, locked out of the system designed to catch them.

Our 'unfunded lives' project exists to find and assess these people, then work to temporarily meet their most basic care needs. This ensures at least some safety and a semblance of dignity - while also gathering and funding the evidence to prove to the NDIA that they belong on the scheme.

every dollar goes where it's needed

For many years, Meliora has been using our surplus funds to meet people in extreme crisis, attempting to stop their life from collapsing further, and beginning to build towards a future they want to live in.

However, we are limited by the resources available to us, to expand our program and make more of a difference where it counts.

With overhead expenses already met through our NDIS supports and aged care services, we guarantee that all donations go directly to supporting the people who desperately need it. People in your community who are going through the severe trauma of an 'unfunded life'.

Our vision is to continue expanding this program to ensure that nobody suffers so unnecessarily.

real people

We are currently supporting NDIS applicants, Scott and Rhys - to make it through the gauntlet of NDIS eligibility. This has cost thousands in Allied Health reports, and required hundreds of hours of direct care while the process continues, which now sits with the Administrative Review Tribunal. This is a process that any person would find gargantuan, let alone someone living with such extreme impairments.

Living through daily torture with no end in sight - is no way for any person to live unnecessarily.

Some people don't have anyone left who can help them jump through the hoops, who can speak the language the NDIS requires. Or who has the capacity to make sure they can eat, maintain basic hygiene, and safely do the simplest of life's tasks.

These are the people who the NDIS was designed for, but who also find it the hardest to access. Let's all chip in together and help change their lives forever.
